Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 5, 2026
1. About This Policy
StandEquipped LLC ("StandEquipped", "we", "us" or "our") is a company based in Wyoming, United States. We make the StandEquipped app for mobile devices and the web, and run the website at standequipped.com (together, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why we collect it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
We wrote it to be read. If anything is unclear, email support@standequipped.com and a real person will answer.
The Short Version
- We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Your journal and your Guidance conversations are encrypted with a key that belongs only to your account. This is not end-to-end encryption: our servers can decrypt your content to run the features you use, such as AI replies, sharing and automated safety checks. No one on our team has a tool for reading it.
- AI features run only after you say yes, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.
- Prayers you share publicly are checked by an automated safety filter before anyone else sees them, and can be reported and reviewed by our moderators.
- You can export your data and delete your account in the App, on our website or by email.
- StandEquipped is for adults 18 and older.
2. Who Can Use StandEquipped
StandEquipped is made for adults 18 and older. When you create an account, the App asks for your birth month and year. If you were born in the month you turn 18, it also asks for the day. Your answer is checked once and never stored. We keep only a record that you confirmed you are at least 18, the date you confirmed it, and which versions of these documents you accepted and when.
If the answer shows that you are under 18, the account is removed along with anything saved in it. The App also keeps a note on that device for 30 days, so the check cannot simply be repeated with a different year. If we learn in any other way that someone under 18 is using the App, we will delete their account (Section 12).
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Before You Create an Account
You can explore StandEquipped and use Help Me Stand without an account. The choices you make while exploring, such as a battle you pick or your preferred Bible translation, are kept only on your device. If you then create an account, those choices are saved to it. Help Me Stand used without an account does not save a record of your session.
We do not create an account for you on our servers until you sign up. The technical information in Section 3.8, such as crash reports and app security checks, can still be collected while you explore.
You need an account to write anything in the App (journal entries, battles, victories, prayers or moods), to use AI features, to share or report community prayers, and to subscribe to Premium.
3.2 Your Account
- Your email address and the way you sign in: email and password, Google, or Apple.
- Your name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us. Apple lets you hide your email address, and then we receive a private relay address instead. If no name is shared, the App uses the part of your email address before the "@".
- Whether your email address has been verified.
Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. We never see or store your password in plain text.
3.3 Your Journal and Spiritual Life
The heart of StandEquipped is what you choose to record. This can include:
- battles and temptations you log, what triggered them and how you responded
- victories, answered prayers, prayers and reflections
- mood check-ins
- Stand in Truth entries, kept verses, Scripture practice and armor progress
- Help Me Stand sessions: the struggle you chose, the prayers and declarations used, how long the session lasted and how it ended
- your answers during setup, such as what you are facing and what you hope to grow in
- reminders, notification choices, your time zone and other preferences
3.4 Sensitive Information
What you write in StandEquipped often reveals your religious beliefs. It can also reveal information about your mental and emotional health, such as anxiety, grief, addiction or thoughts of self-harm. Many privacy laws treat these as sensitive categories of information. We collect them only because you choose to enter them, and we use them only to provide the features you use. We never use them for advertising and never sell them. You can delete them at any time (Section 10).
3.5 Community Prayer
Sharing is always your choice. If you share a prayer, we store:
- the prayer text you choose to make public, and any Scripture you include with it
- the name shown with it, which is your community display name, or an anonymous label such as "Anonymous Believer" until that name has passed the check described in Section 6.2 (a prayer opened by its share link shows no name)
- when people pray for it, and the prayers you pray for others
- reports you make about other people's prayers (Section 6)
3.6 AI Features
If you allow AI features, the information described in Section 5 is processed to create replies, summaries, prayers and narration. Guidance conversations and Journey Memory are stored as described there.
3.7 Purchases and Premium
Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card or bank details. RevenueCat, our subscription service, links your purchase to your account using an account identifier and tells the App whether Premium is active. If you apply for Sponsored Premium, the short reason you give is stored encrypted and read by our team to review your request.
3.8 Device and Technical Information
- your push notification token, if you allow notifications
- app version, device type and operating system
- your IP address, which our servers and service providers receive whenever the App connects to them, used for security and to prevent abuse
- app integrity checks that confirm requests come from the genuine App (Section 7)
- crash reports, error reports and performance measurements, such as how long screens take to load
- usage records, such as which features and screens are used, some of which are linked to your account
- when you last used the App, and whether on the web, iPhone or Android
The App does not use your location, contacts, photos or camera, and it does not record audio. If you turn on the app lock, Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint is checked by your device, and we never receive any biometric information.
3.9 When You Contact Us
If you email us or sign up for updates on our website, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use them to reply or to send the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time.
3.10 Our Website, Cookies and Device Storage
Our website at standequipped.com sets no advertising or tracking cookies. To count visits, it uses Umami Analytics, which uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Umami receives your IP address and browser details with each page view, uses them only to tell visitors apart without identifying you, and does not keep your IP address. We see only totals, such as the number of visits, the pages viewed, the site that sent you there and whether a sign-up or log-in link was used.
If you sign up for updates on the website, Google reCAPTCHA checks that the request comes from a person. It loads only when you start using the sign-up form.
The App, including the web version at app.standequipped.com, uses no advertising or tracking cookies either. It keeps what it needs on your device, such as your sign-in, your settings and a copy of recently viewed content, so it opens quickly and keeps you signed in.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- run the App and its features, including saving your journal, syncing it across your devices and showing your progress
- create your account, keep you signed in and keep your account secure
- create AI responses, when you have allowed AI features
- show shared prayers to others, check them for safety and handle reports
- show anonymous totals in the App, such as how many people used a verse or prayed on the community prayer wall, and use them to choose the Verse of the Day. A total never includes a name or anything anyone wrote, and a total appears in the App only once enough people are counted.
- send the notifications and emails you have chosen, and messages about your account or the App
- manage subscriptions and Sponsored Premium
- find and fix crashes, errors and slow screens, and understand which features are used so we can improve them
- prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and protect the safety of people who use the App
- answer your questions and requests
- meet our legal obligations
Where a law such as the GDPR requires a legal basis for using information, we rely on:
- our agreement with you, to provide the service you asked for
- your consent, for sensitive information you choose to enter and for AI features, which you can withdraw at any time
- our legitimate interests in keeping the App secure, preventing abuse and improving the App
- our legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
5. AI Features
5.1 Your Permission Comes First
Some features use AI to respond to what you share. These include Battle Guidance chat and its Journey Memory, Your Story, the weekly reflection, personal armor prayers and devotionals, encouragement notifications and messages, verse explanations shaped by your battles, prayer narration, and matching what you type during setup to a battle. Before your words first go to an AI service, the App asks for your permission. If you say no, everything else keeps working: your journal, armor, verses and prayers. You can change your mind at any time in Settings > Privacy > AI features.
5.2 What Is Sent, and to Whom
Each feature sends only what it needs, such as your messages, your reflections and your recent activity (for example, the battles you logged and your mood). We do not send your name, email address or account identifier with it.
- OpenAI writes replies, summaries, prayers and reflections, and can also create narration.
- ElevenLabs creates spoken audio of prayers when you play narration.
These providers process the information on our behalf to create the response, under their own terms and privacy policies, which limit how long they may keep it and how they may use it.
When AI features are off, nothing about you goes to an AI service. Some general content in the App, such as an explanation of a Bible verse, is written with AI from the verse alone and is the same for everyone. Prayers you share publicly are still checked by OpenAI's moderation service before others see them (Section 6.2).
5.3 Battle Guidance and Crisis Support
Guidance conversations are stored, encrypted, so you can return to them. A conversation is deleted automatically 30 days after its last message, and you can delete it sooner. While you talk with Guidance, the AI also checks your messages for signs that you may be in crisis, so the App can show crisis resources such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you have not allowed AI features, a simple check on your device looks for words that suggest a crisis. Nothing from that check is sent anywhere or stored.
5.4 Journey Memory
Journey Memory lets Guidance remember what helped you before. When it is on, a short, encrypted summary of a conversation is kept, along with details such as the battle, your mood before and after, and the verses and armor that helped. A memory is kept for up to one year after your last related activity. You can forget a single memory, clear them all, or turn Journey Memory off in Settings > Privacy > Guidance Memories. While it is off, nothing new is remembered and saved memories are not used. Turning it off does not erase existing memories, so use Forget or Clear to remove them. When you forget or clear a memory, we keep a small record without any of its content so that it is not recreated. Those records are removed when you delete your account.
5.5 Prayer Narration
When you play a personal prayer aloud, its text is sent to the narration provider, and the audio is stored privately in your account for 90 days so it can play again without being recreated. "Personal" describes the words being read. It is never a recording or copy of your voice. Narration of shared, prewritten prayers is public audio that contains nothing about you.
5.6 Turning AI Features Off
Turning AI features off takes effect right away. From then on, your information is not sent to AI services, and personal AI content made for you earlier, such as reflections, prayers and narration, is not shown or played. Turning AI features off does not delete anything already stored. Your Guidance conversations and memories stay yours to read and delete while AI features are off, and what you keep follows the periods in Section 9.
AI responses can be wrong. They are not professional, medical or pastoral advice. The Terms of Service say more.
6. Community Prayer, Moderation and Reporting
6.1 Sharing
Your journal is private. A prayer becomes visible to others only when you choose to share it, either to the community prayer feed or by a link anyone can open. On the community prayer feed, a shared prayer shows your community display name, which you set in Settings, under Community Prayer. Until that name has passed the check described in Section 6.2, an anonymous label such as "Anonymous Believer" shows instead. A prayer opened by its share link shows no name, and a shared prayer never shows your email address. What you write can still identify you, so share only what you are comfortable with others reading. You can stop sharing at any time, but we cannot recall copies others have already seen or saved.
6.2 Safety Checks Before Anything Is Public
Before anyone else can see a shared prayer, its public text (the prayer, the name shown with it and any Scripture you include) is checked by OpenAI's moderation service. Community display names are checked the same way. Only text you choose to make public is checked, and your private journal is never sent for moderation. This check happens whether or not you have allowed AI features.
A prayer is shown to others only after it passes. Some prayers are held for review by our moderators, who can approve or reject them. When a prayer is rejected, it is taken down: its public link stops working and the public copy is removed. Changes to a shared prayer are checked again.
6.3 Reporting
Anyone signed in can report a shared prayer for spam, harassment or hate, sexual content, someone being in danger, or something else, and can add optional details. Reports are private: the person who shared the prayer is not told who reported it. A prayer you report is hidden from you right away. When several people report the same prayer, it is hidden from everyone until a moderator reviews it. A report that someone may be in danger can alert our team immediately, and the App shows you crisis resources. If you are not signed in, you can report a prayer by emailing its link to support@standequipped.com.
6.4 Moderators and Blocking
Our moderators can see the reports about a prayer, its public text and the automated safety scores, so they can decide what to do. They can dismiss reports, take a prayer down, or block an account from sharing and the community. When an account is blocked, its shared prayers and display name are hidden from others.
We keep records of moderation decisions, reports and blocks to keep the community safe and to prevent repeat abuse. These records hold the decision, the reason and the safety scores, not a copy of the prayer. A block record also keeps the blocked account's email address.
7. Service Providers and Other Sharing
We share information only as described here.
7.1 Service Providers
These companies help us run the App. Each receives only what its part of the service needs:
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): sign-in, including Google Sign-In, database, file storage, website hosting, server processing, encryption keys (Cloud Key Management Service) and delivery of notifications to Android devices.
- Google security and diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring send crash and speed reports from the mobile apps. Firebase App Check, with Play Integrity on Android and reCAPTCHA on the web, confirms that requests come from the genuine App and not from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA also protects password reset requests on the web and the update sign-up form on our website.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Attest (Apple's integrity check for the App on iPhone and iPad), App Store purchases, delivery of notifications to Apple devices, and Siri and Shortcuts when you use them to add an entry or hear your progress. Apple handles what you say to Siri under its own privacy policy.
- OpenAI: AI replies, summaries, prayers and narration, and the safety check of shared prayers and display names.
- ElevenLabs: spoken narration of prayers.
- RevenueCat, the Apple App Store and Google Play: subscriptions and purchases.
- Expo: delivery of push notifications (your device's notification token and the text of the notification), updates to the App (the update server receives basic information such as the App version and platform when the App checks for an update), and EAS Observe, which measures how quickly the mobile App starts and moves between screens and reports App errors.
- Sentry: error reports from the web version of the App.
- Resend: email delivery, such as verification, password reset and account messages.
- Umami: cookie-free visit counts for our website (Section 3.10).
We set up crash and error reporting to leave out the content of your journal and messages where we can, but these reports can include technical details and your account identifier. Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy policy, and their retention practices differ.
7.2 Other People, When You Choose
Prayers you share are seen by others as described in Section 6. If you share something outside the App, such as by sending a link, it goes wherever you send it.
7.3 Legal Requirements and Safety
We may disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, or when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect someone's life or safety, or the rights and security of StandEquipped and the people who use it.
7.4 If the Company Changes Hands
If StandEquipped is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of it. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
8. How We Protect Information
- Your journal entries, prayers and reflections, Help Me Stand prayers, setup answers, Guidance conversations and Journey Memory summaries are encrypted on our servers with a key unique to your account. That key is itself protected by Google Cloud Key Management Service.
- This is not end-to-end encryption. Our servers can decrypt your content to provide the features you use, such as AI replies, sharing and data export, and to run automated safety checks. Some information is not encrypted this way, including your name and email address, the categories, dates and mood scores of your entries, the public copy of prayers you share, your settings and usage records.
- Connections use HTTPS, and access to our systems is limited and controlled. Administrative tools use access controls and audit logging.
- No one on our team has a tool for reading your private content: your journal, prayers, Battle Guidance conversations and Help Me Stand sessions. Our servers decrypt it only to provide the features you use, such as AI replies and exporting your own data, and to run automated safety checks. Shared community prayers are public text: when one is reported, a moderator reviews it.
- Narration audio is stored privately in your account and played through a link that expires after 15 minutes.
- If a message to Guidance looks like an attempt to misuse the AI, a short excerpt of it may be kept in our security records.
- Some information, such as your settings and cached content, is stored on your device. If you add the StandEquipped widget or use Siri and Shortcuts on iPhone, your armor progress and your sign-in are shared with them on your device so they can work. Protect your device with a passcode, and consider turning on the App's lock.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purposes in this policy. Cleanup runs on a schedule, so deletion can happen a little after a period ends.
- Your account, journal and the other records you create: until you delete them or delete your account.
- Guidance conversations: deleted 30 days after the last message.
- Journey Memory: up to one year after your last related activity, or sooner if you forget or clear it.
- Personal prayer narration audio: 90 days after it is created.
- Feature usage events and daily and weekly activity summaries: 90 days.
- Other usage records linked to your account: until you delete your account.
- Moderation, report, block, security and administrative audit records: as long as they are needed to keep the community safe, protect the App and meet legal obligations. Some of these outlast an account (Section 11).
- Crash, error and performance reports, and server logs: kept by the provider for a limited time under its own retention settings.
- Records of urgent alerts sent to our team about a report that someone may be in danger: 30 days after the alert, or 90 days if it could not be delivered. They identify the person who reported only by a scrambled code.
- Information sent to AI services and other providers: kept under their terms, as described in Sections 5 and 7.
10. Your Choices and Rights
10.1 In the App
- See and change: your profile, journal and other records are in the App, where you can edit or delete them.
- Export: Settings > Data & Account > Export Data downloads a copy of your profile, journal entries, armor history and preferences as a file. Email us for a copy of anything else.
- AI features: turn them on or off in Settings > Privacy > AI features.
- Journey Memory: manage, forget or turn it off in Settings > Privacy > Guidance Memories.
- Community: stop sharing a prayer, or leave the community, at any time.
- Notifications: change them in Settings or in your device's settings.
- Delete your account: see Section 11.
10.2 Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and US state privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct or delete your information, to receive a portable copy of it, to restrict or object to how it is used, to withdraw consent, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. To use any of these rights, email support@standequipped.com from the email address on your account. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you, and we will answer within the time the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of there.
11. Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time:
- In the App: Settings > Data & Account > Delete Account. You will be asked to type your account's email address, or DELETE if your account has no email address, to confirm.
- On the web or by email: follow the steps at standequipped.com/delete-account, or email support@standequipped.com from your account's email address with the subject "Delete my account".
When you delete your account in the App, deletion starts right away. We delete your journal entries, battles, victories, moods, Help Me Stand sessions, Guidance conversations, Journey Memory, kept verses, narration audio, usage records and preferences. We remove the encryption key for your private text, delete your sign-in account, and ask RevenueCat to delete your subscription record. If any step does not finish, it is retried automatically.
Some information remains:
- Prayers you shared are not removed entirely. Their text is replaced with "Removed by author", they leave the community feed, and their links stop working.
- Records that you prayed for other people's prayers remain, without any message text, so their prayer counts stay correct.
- Moderation, report, block, security and administrative audit records remain as described in Section 9. Reports you made are kept without your identity or the details you wrote.
- Billing and cost records keep the amounts but not your identity.
- Copies in backups or held by service providers can take longer to disappear, and copies others have already seen or saved cannot be recalled.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first.
12. Children
StandEquipped is for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, email support@standequipped.com and we will delete it.
13. International Users
We are based in the United States. Your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate, and their data protection laws may differ from those where you live.
14. Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. When a change is important, the App will ask you to review and accept the updated documents before you continue, and we may also tell you by email.
